Daphne and spring like days

It's that time of year again when the Daphne Odora breaks out in perfumery song!  Daphne reminds me of my mother because she most always had a bush of it growing in a protected corner of her yard. She would show up at my door with a few sprigs as soon as it was blooming. We would lift the blossoms to our nose, and lavish in the perfection of the scent. It's such a clear, untouched smell that brings out a smile every time we shared in the beauty!   I have often thought it would be lovely to have perfume that smelled like it!
As it turns out, there is a company in Portland, Oregon that has created a perfume called Dafne.
If you're like me and interested in trying some.... here is a link to the web site that offers a 9ml bottle of "Dafne"  for $45. There are several other delightful sounding scents too.

Our Daphne Odora bush is rather loaded this year, and that means it likes where we planted it.
It is on the North side of our house, catches the afternoon sunshine, but not so much as to discourage growth.  Our suet bird feeder sits above it.  Even the birds seem to enjoy this bush as they scatter under its cover, and out of the way of danger.

I've been lazy in getting to my blog pages the past couple of weeks, but not lazy in view of work.  Valentines was an eight day week which left me ready for some quiet, and time to take in a day like today..... full of sunshine!  I'm simply grateful, and will be keeping in tune with what nature has to bring these almost spring like days!

  2. I'm not familiar with daphnes but I'd enjoy seeing one. Maybe I'll ask at Molbaks and see if they have one for me to stick my nose in. Lovin the sunshine today!!
