The season of wonder

Christmas Greeting!
It is the season of wonder.

I bring you good tidings of great joy...Luke 2:10

Lamb and Star was done in watercolor, with the thought of wonder on my mind.
Paint Party Friday is the place to see other budding artists share their creations.  Thanks goes to Kristin and Eva for hosting the opportunity!

We had snow again this week, and it provided its own wonder!

I won't be available to post next week so I'll wish you all a wonderful Christmas and see you in a couple of weeks!
I appreciate each and every comment!  They are like gifts. :)

Tags for Christmas

This has been a light hearted week to paint and prepare a few Christmas tags for gift giving.  I tried several approaches and ended up with a variety of tags that are pleasing to me.  Several years ago a Victoria Magazine arrived at my home in the mail and there was a Christmas tree I was so drawn to.  An artist had made paper tags embellished with things like feathers and dried roses.  The tree was set outside, obviously not in Oregon, but somewhere where they didn't have the wet rain.  It was beautiful and I've never forgot it.  In the meantime I've been doing a bit of my own embellishing on tags, and have thought of doing a tree covered with them, but not this year.
I cut 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper, using a serrated bread knife, into small pieces.  Then used a permanent marker to draw holiday cheer and finished them with a wash of watercolor.

 Lots of doodle fun here!

Wishing you some Merry days!

Thanks to Eva and Kristin over at Paint Party Friday for hosting so many artists and being an encouragement to keep on creating!

Ps.....a beautiful week with snow here at home! It wasn't much but still thrilling to experience.  We don't get ton's of snow in this area of Oregon....so it is an event!  :)

Down.....Country Road

Since last May and taking the Sketchbook Watercolor Class from Leslie Fehling, at Cheap Joe's in Boone, North Carolina, I have been filling a journal with everyday happenings around my home.
This page is a sketch from my front window and looking down our driveway...which I have shared in photo form several times.  The deciduous trees are bare and offer a view of the winter season. This page was done quickly and in a loose manner. I used a micron pen and watercolor paint.

There is another class that Leslie Fehling will be teaching right here in McMinnville, Oregon.  It is happening May 19, 20 and 21st at the Currents Gallery.  It's well work a look to see if this class is something you might enjoy.  Leslie is a wonderful teacher and the class offers great techniques and methods to apply to Watercolor Sketchbook Journaling.  The class is titled "Sketch Your Life" .
Click here to read more and sign up for the class!  You may also go to Leslie Fehling's Blog and click on the email link under the class listing.  Sepha is the contact person at Currents Gallery in McMinnville. Phone: 503 435 1316.
It would be fun for some of you who live nearby to join the class!

Thanks to Paint Party Friday for offering so much encouragement to those of us who love to create and share our journey's.
